Sectional Switch Protection Cabinet

The cabinet is designed for protecting 110kV sectional (bus-tie) circuit breakers. It serves to control the sectional circuit breaker, automate protection of sections, and monitor voltage transformers in the section. Depending on the standard configuration, the cabinet may house one or two sets of protection, automation, and control systems for the sectional circuit breaker.

Cabinet design:

  • Two-stage overcurrent protection;
  • Three-stage non-directional zero-sequence current protection;
  • Phase failure protection;
  • Circuit breaker tripping via CBFP (Circuit Breaker Failure Protection) terminal
  • Two-channel trip circuit monitoring;
  • Closing circuit monitoring;
  • Automatic reclosing;
  • Incomplete phase sequence protection;
  • Time-delayed directional overcurrent protection;
  • Disconnector monitoring and control;
  • Discrete and analog event recording.

The cabinet's AC circuits provide connection to secondary circuits of main current transformers with rated secondary current of 1A or 5A.

Cabinet components

  • Current measurement circuits;
  • Voltage measurement circuits;
  • Protection input/output circuits;
  • Relay control circuits;
  • Lighting and power outlet circuits.

Cabinet design:

The cabinet features a grounded metal enclosure with two-sided access, a transparent front door, and a solid metal rear door. All metal components are corrosion-protected. Surfaces are coated with epoxy-polyester powder paint, and insulating materials are flame-retardant. For convenient external cable connections, the cabinet includes a base frame, grounding busbar, and cable tie-off rails.
