Complete switchgear MVC-W-10

Comprehensive Switchgear Model MVC-W-10 (hereinafter referred to as Switchgear) with vacuum or gas-insulated circuit breakers for voltage classes of 6(10.5) kV, rated currents of 630–4000 A, and breaking capacities of 25, 31.5, and 40 kA. Designed for indoor installation in three-phase alternating current systems with frequencies of 50 and 60 Hz, for networks with isolated or arc-suppression coil-grounded neutral. The switchgear is used at both primary and secondary levels of power distribution. The switchgear cells are utilized by generation and grid companies, industrial enterprises, and infrastructure facilities. The switchgear cabinet is designed for operation in industrial environments.

Functions of MVC-W-10:

1. Power Reception and Distribution:

  • Ensures centralized reception of high-voltage power and its distribution to outgoing lines or transformers.

2. Electrical protection:

  • Protects equipment and lines from short circuits, overloads, overvoltages, and other fault conditions;
  • Implemented using automatic circuit breakers, vacuum and gas-insulated circuit breakers, protective relays, and other devices.

3. Switching operations:

  • Enables safe switching, disconnection, transfer, and grounding of various network sections.
  • Operations can be performed manually or automatically, including remote control

4. Control and measurement:

  • Equipped with devices for monitoring and indicating network parameters (voltage, current, power, frequency);
  • Can be integrated into process control systems (SCADA) and dispatching systems

5. Selectivity Assurance:

  • Prevents total facility blackout during a fault by isolating only the affected line.

6. Personnel Safety:

  • Features interlocking systems, grounding switches, protective shields, and automatic blocks to prevent incorrect operations during maintenance.

Areas of application:

Industry Energy industry Housing and communal services and construction Transport infrastructure Oil and gas sector facilities Agriculture and agro-industry

Structural Composition of the Switchgear Cell:

1. Protection and Automation Compartment:

  • Houses microprocessor-based protection relays as per customer requirements. Includes devices for commercial or technical energy metering, electrical measuring instruments (ammeters, voltmeters), terminal blocks, heating circuits, lighting, automation, and operational interlocks. Components for automatic control systems (ACS) are also installed here if integrated.;

2. Circuit Breaker Compartment:

  • Contains a withdrawable element with a vacuum or gas-insulated circuit breaker (trolley with disconnector or grounding disconnector) and movable metal shutters that automatically close when the breaker/disconnector/grounding disconnector is moved from the operational to the test position;

3. Busbar compartment:

  • In the compartment there are copper tires, pass-through insulators.

4. Cable Compartment:

  • Includes cable entries, grounding disconnectors, high-voltage presence indication modules, current transformers, and voltage transformers.

Functional Components of the Switchgear Cell:

  • Voltage and current monitoring circuits:
  • Power supply circuits;
  • Breaker control and protection circuits;
  • Arc protection circuits;
  • Operational interlock circuits;
  • Alarm circuits;
  • Circuit Breaker Deployment Device, Logic Bus Protection;
  • lighting and heating circuits.
The development of MVC-W-10 incorporates the latest global trends in switchgear manufacturing, emphasizing high reliability, safety, ease of operation, and cost-effectiveness. Key features include:
  • Corrosion-resistant galvanized steel enclosure capable of withstanding overpressure during internal arc faults;
  • Functional compartments (withdrawable element, cable connections, busbars, and secondary circuits) separated by metal partitions;
  • Dedicated pressure relief valves for each high-voltage compartment during internal arc faults;
  • Secondary circuits routed in metal cable channels within high-voltage compartments;
  • Busbar compartments of adjacent cells separated by metal partitions with bushing insulators;
  • High-reliability switching devices: vacuum or gas-insulated circuit breakers and grounding switches;
  • Each cell undergoes factory acceptance tests in accordance with GOST 14693-90.
